MUSKEGON – The Mona Shores boys lacrosse team took home the trophy at the annual Lumbertown Lax Jam against Reeths-Puffer on Saturday.

The Sailors jumped out early and topped the Rockets, 14-8.

“The event features competitions between our programs at all levels for boys and girls lacrosse and serves as a fundraiser/promotional event for the host program which alternates each year,” said coach Murle Greer.

“The event always finished with a varsity boys’ competition and the winner takes home the coveted “Axe” for a year until the next time we compete.”

Dylan Fett led the way with six goals while JJ Boos, Luke Beilhartz and Brayton Conrad each chipped in a pair.

Andrew Baker had five ground balls and three forced turnovers.

Goalkeeper Parker Hayward stopped 11 shots on the net.

“It was a solid win for us and we were able to use everybody on the team to get the job done,” Greer said.
