WALKER —Muskegon Catholic earned a split of a baseball doubleheader with GR Covenant Christian on Wednesday.

The Crusaders won the opener 7-6 and dropped the nightcap 11-1.

In Game 1, Bryan Convertini was the winning pitcher. He pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed one hit and three earned runs.

Landon Luches had a double and scored two runs while Owen Lyonnais had a single and two RBI. Braden Gustin plated a run with a single in the last inning. In that final winning, MCC outscored Covenant 6-3.

In the nightcap, Crox Klint pitched a complete game and suffered the loss. Gusin led MCC with an RBI double while Bode Zygmuntowski and Klint each chipped in with a hit.

The Crusaders are now 3-1-1 on the season.
