Solid pitching in both games of Tuesday’s doubleheader sparked the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks to a pair of victories.

Muskegon CC won the first game 7-5 and the nightcap 3-2.

In the opener, Adam Poel pitched six innings and struck out six to earn the victory. Bryant Westra notched his seventh save of the season. Kory Brown and M.J. Oshinski each had two hits for MCC and Ty Devine knocked in three runs.

In the second game, Zach Courtade picked up the victory in relief and Westra picked upĀ another save. Brown and Greg Chulski each had two hits for MCC (18-9, 9-3).

The Jayhawks hit the road on Wednesday for games at Lansing CC.
