FREMONT– The Sparta Spartans swept the boys and girls divisions in Friday’s Rick Tompkins Packer Relays.
The track meet was run at Pine Street Athletic Field in Fremont.
In the boys’ division, Sparta took the top spot with 131.5 points while White Cloud came in second with 95. Other team scores included: Fremont (70), Wyoming Potters House (70), Newaygo (39.5), Shelby (17) and Western Michigan Christian (8).
In the girls’ division, Sparta racked up 114.5 points and Wyoming Potter’s House followed with 94. Other team scores included: White Cloud (78.5), Fremont (55), Newaygo (51), Western Michigan Christian (31) and Shelby (6).
Top individual performances for the Fremont boys team included:
Connor Pettis placed third in the 100, Kolten Belmarez eighth.
In the 1,600, Sean Pettis second, Blake Taylor eighth and Issac Romero ninth.
Daniel Romero won the 300 hurdles and Carter Rottman placed fourth.
The 4×100 team of Gabe Curtice, Connor Pettis, Jacob Burns, and Khai Noordyke took first place.
The 4×200 team took first place with Daniel Romero, Connor Pettis, Khai Noordyke and Jacob Burns.
The 4×400 team of Lucas Bradley, Owen Hertel, Bjorn Johnson, and Gary Springstead took second place.
The 4×800 and sprint medley teams placed fifth.
The distance medley team of Carter Sherman, Owen Hertel, Chase Lowery, and Sean Pettis finished third.
The high jump and shot put relay teams placed fifth.
The discus relay team of Andrew Steger and Lucas Bradley finished fourth.
No other individual team results were submitted
