MUSKEGON — Heavy hitting by the Oakridge Eagles produced a sweep of a non-conference softball doubleheader against Sparta on Wednesday.

The host Eagles won the opener, 14-5, and the nightcap, 16-1 in four innings.

In the first game, Kaelinn Jozsa pitched a complete game and allowed seven hits. She struck out three.

Jozsa helped her own cause at the plate with a home run, triple and double. She knocked in two runs. Ahria Doornbos had two doubles and three RBI and Gracie Willea had a double and a single. Andrea Romero belted a home run and Gracie Clark had a pair of singles.

Oakridge, which trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, scored nine runs in the fifth inning and five in the sixth. 

In the second game, Kylee Willea pitched all four innings and allowed four hits and struck out a season-high seven.

Romero smacked a grand slam home run and also added a single to lead the Eagles’ hitting. Kylee Willea had two singles.

Oakridge improved its record to 17-5.
