Spring Lake tosses combined no-hitter in baseball shutout over rival Fruitport

 

FRUITPORT — Oliver Smies and Ryan Grimm combined on a no-hitter Thursday and led Spring Lake to a 2-1 OK-Blue baseball victory over Fruitport.

 

Smies went 4 2/3 innings for the victory and Grimm earned the save with 1 1/3 innings. They combined for six strikeouts and four walks.

 

Derrick  Paggeot had two hits while Smies and Gerrit Lyyski each drove in a run.

 

Spring Lake is now 12-6 overall, 7-5 in the OK-Blue. Fruitport is 6-9, 3-9.
