Holton falls in Division 4 regional softball championship game

ONEKAMA–The Holton Red Devils girls’ softball team dropped a heartbreaking Division 4 regional championship game to Lake Leelanau St. Mary on Saturday, thus bringing their season to a close.

Holton lost, 5-4.

In the Red Devils’ semifinal game, they shutout host Onekama 10-0 in five innings to advance to the regional championship game. against. St. Mary who earlier had beaten East Jordan 15-5 in five innings.

Holton caps off a solid season with a 22-11-1 overall record, 8-2 record in the West Michigan Conference – Rivers. Their only two losses in league play were to Ravenna, which plays in the Division 3 quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.

Lake Leelanau St. Mary will take on Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.
