KENT CITY – The Kent City volleyball team played two tight matches in a home tri-meet on Wednesday.

The Eagles split with a win against Manton (25-19, 25-21) and a tough loss to Ionia (16-25, 25-23, 16-14).

Cailynn Hartzell led the way with 43 assists and four aces while Maddie Geers had 32 digs, 20 kills and six blocks. Kaden Perkins added 26 digs and two aces.

Also, Irelyn Sullivan and Denyle Bonter each chipped in 10 kills. 

Kent City (10-6-1, 1-0) will be at home on Wednesday against Newaygo.
