MANITOWOC, WI–The Mona Shores Sailors took care of business on Friday evening in the “Battle of the Bridges as they cruised past the host Manitowoc Ships, 58-7.

The Sailors ran out to a 37-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 51-7 at halftime. Mona Shores closed out the scoring with a fourth quarter touchdown.

Sailor quarterback Jonathan Pittman completed 16-of-19 passes for 203 yards. The Sailors also rushed for 259 yards for a total of 462 yards of offense.

The leading rushers were Tomarion Stewart with seven carries for 58 yards and a 6-yard touchdown run and Tyrese McCorvey-Hill with five rushes for 57 yards. Jaeger Johnson was the leading receiver with six catches for 114 yards.

On defense, the leading tacklers were Coreyontae Bothwell with seven tackles, Andrew Baker with six and Hunter Krueger with five.

The Sailors limited the Ships to -33 yards rushing.

The Sailors will be back in action this coming Friday when they host the Rockford Rams (1-0), who defeated Muskegon, 27-7, on Friday evening.
