The Reeths-Puffer Rocket girls golf team finished 18th among the 32 teams that competed at the two-day Lober Classic at Crystal Mountain Golf Course.

The event was played at the Mountain Course on Monday and the Betsie Valley Course on Tuesday.

The Rockets shot 403 on Monday and 394 on Tuesday for a total of 797.

Senior Paige Anderson led the way with a two-day total of 156. That tied for eighth place and earned her a spot on the all-tournament team. Her 76 on Monday included four birdies. She finished with an 80 on the second day and included two more birdies.

Freshman Sophia McCollum finished at 207, followed by junior Rowan Bluhm at 212, junior Avery Luna at 222 and senior Abby Haak with a 233. Luna’s opening round included a 20-foot putt that found the bottom of the cup for her first-ever birdie.

“I purposely put us in a tough and fun tournament to see where we are at,” said Rocket coach Matt Pallett. “I am pleased with how the girls played on two tough courses. It challenged our mental toughness. This tournament will make us better”.

The Rockets return to action Wednesday at the Mona Shores Invitational at Chase Hammond.
