Ludington girls finish 12th at season-opening golf invitational

 

THOMPSONVILLE– The Ludington Oriole girls’ golf team shot a 380 on Tuesday and finished 12th in the 32-team invitational at Crystal Mountain.

 

Among Division 3-4 schools, the Orioles finished third.

 

Ludington finished with a two-day total of 768. Brighton was the overall champion at 629. Grand Rapids Catholic was the Division 3-4 champion with a 658.

 

Emma McKinley led the way for Ludington with a 155, which was good for seventh place overall. Julia Reed shot a 196, Sam Hanson 200, Kendal Waligorski 224 and Vanessa Madl 226.

 

Rockford’s Jessica Jolly was the medalist with a 138.

 

The Orioles play again on Wednesday in Manistee for the first conference jamboree.
