THOMPSONVILLE–The Ludington girls’ golf team kicked off the season with an opening-day 13th-place finish in the opening round of the Lober Classic.
 
The event was played at Crystal Mountain Resort on the Mountain Ridge Course.
 
The Orioles are currently in 13th place out of 32 teams at 388.  Brighton leads the way with a 318.
 
Leading the way for Ludington, and tied for fifth place, is Emma McKinley, who shot a 77.  Julia Reed shot a 95 while Sam Hanson finished with a 106 and Vanessa Madl shot a personal best of 110.  Rounding out the lineup for the Orioles were Reya Dila with a 115 and Kendal Waligorski at 117. 
 
Jessica Jolly from Rockford sits atop the leaderboard with an opening round of 66.
 
Second round action continues at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
