NORTON SHORES – The Western Michigan Christian and Spring Lake boys soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening,

Both teams battled back and forth and neither found a score in the first half.

Ben Pollock set up Lucas Dick early in the second half to earn the Warriors’ only goal of the night.

The Warriors maintained the lead for the majority of the half, but missed opportunities to extend the lead and the Lakers bagged the tying goal in the closing minutes.

Goalkeeper Dan Minasian stopped eight of nine shots for the Warriors.

WMC (1-1-2) will travel to East Grand Rapids on Tuesday.

Spring Lake (1-1-1) will compete in the Lakeshore Cup at Reeths-Puffer on Saturday.
