Fruitport falls to top-ranked Unity Christian in soccer action

FRUITPORT – The Fruitport boys’ soccer team dropped a tough OK Conference-Blue match against top ranked Hudsonville Unity Christian on Monday.

Fruitport came in ranked No. 8 in Division 2 while Hudsonville Unity Christian is the No. 1 team in Division 3.

Both teams battled back and forth over the first half, but the Trojans fell behind and lost, 4-2. 

Brady Brown and Jorge Burgos-Yack each earned a score off assists from Braylon Marshall and Isaac Vandermolen, respectively.

Goalkeeper Logan Werschem stopped 11 shots for the Trojans. 

Fruitport (6-2-1, 1-2-1) will travel to Coopersville on Wednesday for a conference matchup.
