GRAND HAVEN – The Rockford Rams strolled into Grand Haven on Friday night and rolled to a 49-8 victory.

The Rams (6-0) are regarded as one of the top high school footballs in the state. Earlier this season, Rockford won handily at Muskegon and Mona Shores.

On Friday, Rockford led 49-0 before Grand Haven’s Dean Mattson broke the shutout with a 28-yard touchdown run. Mattson also ran in the 2-point conversion.

Mattson finished with 12 rushes for 71 yards.

On defense, Xzavier Rodriguez and Logan Minier each had five tackles.

Grand Haven (1-5) hosts Jenison (0-6) next Friday night.
