KENT CITY – The Kent City Eagles scored five first-half touchdowns on Friday night and cruised by Morley-Stanwood 44-0.
 
The Eagles led 16-0 after one quarter and extended it to 38-0 at the half. 
 
Caden Hartzell scored on runs of 11, 14 and 8 yards to lead the way. He finished the night with 12 carries for 146 yards. Carson Gorton added a 10-yard rushing touchdown and also caught a touchdown pass good for 16 yards from Arin Sarres. Blake Carlson capped the scoring for Kent City with a 4-yard rushing TD in the final quarter.
 
Cooper Sinson also topped the 100-yard rushing mark with 10 carries for 110 yards. Gordon had five carries for 53 yards. In all, the Eagles churned out 393 rushing yards.
 
Sarres completed 3-of-8 passes for 85 yards. Gorton hauled in two passes for 57 yards.
 
Kent City had 494 yards of total offense.
 
On defense, Andre Meade had seven tackles (one for loss), Zach Devoogd had six tackles, forced two fumbles and recovered one and Logan Danielson had five tackles. Nik Mejia also recovered a fumble.
 
Next week, Kent City (5-1) hosts Reed City (3-3).
