Kent City tops Reed City in five-set volleyball battle

Kent City didn’t let a five-game challenge go to waste in its volleyball win over Reed City on Tuesday. 

The Eagles defeated Reed City 19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25 and 15-6. 

Cailynn Hartzel and Maddie Geers led the way for Kent City. Hartzell finished with 36 assists, 11 digs and four aces while Geers had 22 kills, 22 digs and three blocks. 

Also leading Kent City was Kaden Perkins with four aces and seven kills. Laynee Hoffman had 24 digs and an ace, Kaden Perkins had four 12 digs, seven kills and four aces while Denle Bonter had two blocks and an ace. 

Hannah Stellini had 18 digs and six kills, Maddy Mitchell had eight kills and one block for the Eagles (13-7-2, 4-1).
