KENT CITY – The Kent City football team ran over Lakeview in a CSAA conference matchup on Friday night.

The Eagles rushed for 329 yards and topped Lakeview, 28-7.

Caden Hartzel led the ground attack with 111 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Joe VanOfelen found the end zone twice with a long of 39 yards and accumulated 94 yards on 11 carries.

Chase Gorton also got some touches and rushed 66 yards on nine carries and a score.

Gabe Russel helped slow down the Lakeview offense with 12 tackles, including one for loss. Hartzell proved to be productive from both sides of the ball and made 10 tackles.

Andrew Klotz and Zach Devoogd added eight tackles apiece, with two tackles for a loss, while Nick Mejia had eight tackles and one for a loss.

Clayton Preston pulled down a pair of interceptions. 

Kent City (4-1, 2-0) will be back to league action at home when they host Morley-Stanwood on Friday.
