SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central swept a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division baseball doubleheader from Holton on Tuesday night, 5-4 and 22-4.

Brady Anes was the starting pitcher for the Spartans in the first game.

Pinch hitter Eathen Huffman had a walk-off walk for the Spartans. Simon Shimel led the offense by going 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a single. Peyton Merz and Braylin Thurow each had base hits.

In the nightcap, freshman Kaden Ruiz started on the hill and picked up the win. He was relieved by Easton Edmondson. The game was s shortened to three innings because of the mercy rule.

Will Chye paced the Spartans at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Ruiz had a double and drove in three runs.

Anes also had a double and Thurow had three RBI. Colten Sanders drove in two runs with a pinch-hit single, and Merz had two RBI.

The Spartans close the regular season at Manistee. Holton hosts Montague on Thursday.
