Muskegon Community College loses three of four matches against tough volleyball competition

PERRYSBURG, OH – The Muskegon Community College volleyball team went 1-3 against top-ranked teams in an invitational at Owens Community College over the holiday weekend.

The Jayhawks fell to defending national champion Richard Bland (3-1), Hagerstown Community College (3-1) and McHenry County College (3-2). The single victory came against Harper College (3-2).

Madisyn Dykema accumulated 57 kills, 11 blocks and three aces on the day while Leah Ellis had 35 kills, 35 digs, nine aces and nine blocks.

Shelbie Schoenborn added 180 assists, 10 kills and 16 blocks. Also, Kendra Kieft chipped in 98 digs with 14 aces and Ana Trevino had 38 kills with 13 blocks. 

MCC travels to Lansing Community College on Tuesday.
