Spring Lake wins first set then falls to Unity Christian in league volleyball match

SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake volleyball team battled against Hudsonville Unity Christian in OK Conference-Blue play on Thursday evening.

The Lakers claimed the first set, but fell short in the following three sets and lost, 25-21, 22-25, 18-25 and 16-25.

Brooke Bolthouse led with 21 digs, 12 kills and a pair of aces while Ella Gapczynski had 10 kills and eight blocks. Brooke Beeler contributed 17 digs and three aces. Avery Britt and Kara Constantine chipped in 18 and 12 assists, respectively.

Spring Lake (13-15-3, 2-5) will travel to Montague on Saturday for a quad match.
