Fremont edges Oakridge in WMC volleyball match

FREMONT – The Fremont volleyball team held off Oakridge for a West Michigan Conference victory on Tuesday. The Packers came out on top in three close sets, 25-22, 27-25 and 25-20.

Kendall Barnhart had 15 kills, 13 digs and four aces. Lily VandenBerg added 22 assists, 10 digs and a pair of aces, while Taylor Waite had seven kills and two blocks.

Baylah Parker made 16 digs and Maddie Baden had a 100 percent service rate from the line.

Fremont (29-12, 5-1) and Oakridge will be at Manistee on Saturday for the conference tournament.
