The Hart track teams, led by Robert and Jessica Jazwinski, ran away from the field in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division race in Tuesday’s Mega Meet.

The boys finished with 21 points, followed by North Muskegon with 64, Shelby with 74, Hesperia with 87, Ravenna at 146 and Mason County Central with 150.

Jazwinski finished in 15:23.88, a full 2 minutes faster than runner-up, Tyler VanderZanden, also from Hart. VanderZanden finished in 17:27.82. North Muskegon’s Evan Atkinson-Miller was third in 17:31.41.

Overall, Hart had five of the top eight runners and seven of the top 12.

In the girls race, Jessica Jazwinski finished more than 3 minutes ahead of the second-place runner. Jazwinski finished in 16:47.80, followed by teammate Lexie Beth Nienhuis (20:00.10) and Shelby’s Lydia Soelberg (20:10.33).

Hart’s lineup placed six runners in the top nine.

Hart finished with 20 points, followed by Mason County Central and Shelby with 58 and Ravenna with 107.
