Fremont used a big second half to top Whitehall 4-1 in a key West Michigan Conference matchup on Monday. With the victory, the Packers are tied for first place in the league with North Muskegon.

Fremont (15-1-1, 7-1-1) tallied the game’s first goal from Deagan Klimek, with Redick Powell assisting on the play.

Whitehall’s Evan Jud responded with a goal of his own off a Mason Munix assist with six minutes left before halftime.

Fremont broke the 1-1 tie eight minutes into the second half on a Klimek goal. Chas Miller posted the assist. Four minutes later, Silar Rinne found the back of the net off a pass from Miller.

Redick Powell completed the scoring for Fremont with nine minutes left in the contest.

Fremont’s Caleb Vissia posted the win in goal with five saves.

Andon Palmer made 11 saves in the loss for Whitehall (6-8 overall; 5-4 WMC).
