HOLLAND – The Fruitport boys soccer team finished runner-up in the OK Conference-Blue with a draw in the conference championship match on Monday.
The Trojans played to a scoreless tie against Holland Christian.
“To be able to come in and get a result is a positive for us heading into district play,” said Fruitport coach Dan Hazekamp. “We had some special efforts tonight from a work ethic standpoint that allowed us to compete.”
Goalkeeper Logan Werschem had another big night and earned his ninth consecutive shutout with 12 saves.
Fruitport (14-2-3) will host Muskegon for the district opener on Thursday.
