FRUITPORT – The Fruitport volleyball team went 1-2 in a home quad match on Thursday evening.

The Trojans dropped tight matches to Western Michigan Christian (22-25, 23-25) and Cadillac (23-25, 15-25) but bounced back to take down Whitehall (25-21, 25-16).

Sadie Haase led the way with 32 kills, 21 digs, three aces and three blocks, while Ellie Stroup added nine kills and three aces. Emma Danicek had 10 kills.

Gracelynn Olson chipped in 61 assists and a pair of blocks. Lauren Riedel had 28 digs and Emma Fecher contributed 21 digs and four aces.

Western Michigan Christian was 2-1 with wins against Fruitport and Whitehall (28-26, 25-19). The loss came at the hands of Cadillac (25-21, 25-15).

Ashley Folkema and Abby Leffring led the Warriors with 22 kills and five blocks. Hannah Heiss had 10 kills and two blocks, while Nora Anderson threw in eight kills and two blocks. Bri Warners had 64 assists.

Fruitport (11-21) and WMC will compete in the GMAA city tournament at Mona Shores on Saturday.
