REED CITY – The Montague Wildcats’ football season came to an end on Friday night in a 41-13 loss to the Reed City Coyotes.

Reed City moves on to the Division 6 district final against the Hart Pirates, who defeated Kent City on the other side of the bracket.

After a scoreless opening quarter, Reed City put up three second-quarter touchdowns. Montague scored all 13 of its points in that quarter. Senior Adam Baird and sophomore quarterback Mason Darke both found the end zone in that second quarter.

Reed City (7-3) added on with six points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth.

Baird rushed 20 times for 118 yards and the touchdown. Baird completed 6-of-14 passes for 37 yards. He also rushed nine times for 79 yards.

Montague (4-6) was led on defense by Ezekial Morales and Fletcher Thommen with 11 tackles each.
