FRUITPORT – The Muskegon Catholic Central volleyball team earned a solid win to open the Division 4 district tournament on Monday.

The Crusaders topped Muskegon Heights Academy in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-15.

MCC’s Molly Caughey had eight kills, three aces and a block, while Clair Carlton contributed seven kills and a block. Emily Muskovin made 15 assists and five digs.

The Crusaders were also led by Daija Hill with six aces and Aubrey Shepherd added six digs.

Muskegon Catholic Central (13-15) will face Portland St. Patricks in the semi-final round on Thursday at Fruitport Calvary Christian. The match starts at 7 p.m.
