MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Community College volleyball team gave a valiant effort against No. 7 nationally ranked Grand Rapids Community College on Tuesday.
The Jayhawks fell short in four sets, 25-13, 27-29, 25-18 and 25-21.
Ana Trevino led with 12 kills and a pair of blocks. Kaitlynn Bennett had 11 kills and five blocks, while Leah Ellis contributed 34 assists, eight digs and three aces. Kendra Kieft chipped in 19 digs and four aces.
Muskegon Community College will travel to Southwestern Michigan Community College on Thursday.
