Muskegon Community College splits four weekend volleyball matches

GRAND RAPIDS – The Muskegon Community College volleyball team went 2-2 at the Raider Challenge over the weekend.

The Jayhawks took down Macomb Community College (25-21, 25-20, 27-29, 26-24) and Kellogg Community College (25-20, 25-23, 25-21). The losses came against Lake County (21-25, 25-22, 17-25, 21-25) and Mott Community College (23-25, 16-25, 25-27).

Leah Ellis accumulated 152 assists, 23 kills, 20 digs and eight blocks while Kaitlynn Bennett added 41 kills and 18 blocks. Ana Trevino had 39 kills and four blocks. Rachel Romero chipped in 35 kills, 33 digs and four blocks.

Muskegon Community College (9-16) will travel to Escanaba on Friday to face Bay College.
