MUSKEGON – The Oakridge volleyball team went 1-1 in a double dual on Thursday evening.

The Eagles were handed a tough loss against Tri-Unity Christian (8-25, 25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 16-18) but battled to edge out Muskegon Catholic Central (25-12, 22-25, 18-25, 25-17, 17-15).

Madison Babinec led with 39 kills, nine digs, five aces and three blocks. Kaelinn Jozsa had 15 kills, 10 aces and three digs, while Ahria Dornbos threw in 17 digs, 12 kills, five blocks and three aces. Gracie Willea added 51 assists, 11 digs, seven kills and three aces. 

Oakridge will be at Whitehall to face rival Orchard View in the Division 2 district opener on Wednesday.

Muskegon Catholic will open Division 4 district play at Fruitport Calvary Christian on Monday. The Crusaders will face off against Muskegon Heights Academy.
