Fremont punches ticket to volleyball regional final with five-set victory over Spring Lake

STANTON – The Fremont volleyball team held off Spring Lake for a victory in the Division 2 regional semifinal on Tuesday.

The Packers went up early and needed a fifth set to edge the Lakers, 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25 and 16-14.

Kendall Barnhart had 18 kills, 16 digs, five aces and a block for the Packers, while Mia Clemence had 11 kills and two aces. Lily VandenBerg threw in 23 assists and three aces. Baylah Parker contributed 35 digs, defensively. 

Kalli Lewkowski led the Lakers with 24 kills and two aces, while Brooke Bolthouse had 27 digs and 13 kills. Kara Constantine added 25 digs, 18 assists and two aces. Abigail Weis chipped in four blocks and two aces.

Fremont will be back at Central Montcalm on Thursday to face Grand Rapids West Catholic in the regional final.

Spring Lake wrapped up the season with a record of 21-21-3.
