BROOKLYN – Grand Haven senior Seth Norder completed his season goal by winning the Division 1 title at the cross country state meet on Saturday.

Norder completed the course in 14:54.2 and edged out runner-up Thomas Westphal from New Baltimore Anchor Bay (14:57.9).

Grand Haven finished third in the team standings with 187 points. Northville won the state championship at 128, followed by Brighton with 141.

In the girls’ race, Grand Haven finished seventh. Romeo won the state title with 65 points, followed by Ann Arbor Pioneer with 126 and Holland West Ottawa with 186.

Rachel Forsyth was the individual champion. The Pioneer runner finished in 16:28.5.

The top 30 in each race earn all-state honors.
