BROOKLYN – The Spring Lake girls cross country team earned a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s Division 2 cross country state meet.
The race was at Michigan International Speedway.

The Lakers, led by Kyla Meyers, finished with 202 points. The Ludington girls came in seventh with 245 points.

Grand Rapids Christian was the state champion with 112 points, followed by Otsego with 131 and Goodrich with 139.

In the boys’ race, Fremont’s Sean Pettis is an all-stater based on his 13th-place finish. T.J. Hansen from Freeland was the overall winner in 14:56.8.

Forest Hills Eastern won the team title with 134 points, followed by Pinckney with 156 and East Grand Rapids with 175.

The top 30 runners are named all-state.
