SAUGATUCK – The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team needed five sets to advance to the district finals on Wednesday night.

The Warriors defeated North Muskegon 25-16, 21-25, 25-18, 17-25 and 15-11.

WMC was paced by Ashley Folkema with 15 kills and five aces, while Hannah Heiss had 10 kills and four aces. Bri Warners chipped in with 37 assists and Abby Leffring had seven kills and two aces.

The Norse were led by Fia Lindsay with 12 kills and two aces, while Olivia Peterson added seven kills. Sami Baker chipped in with three aces and 26 assists.

North Muskegon, which posted a 20-14 record this season, was led defensively by Jolie Fellows with 26 digs, while Emma Buchmiller had 22.  Isabella Fornaro contributed with seven blocks.
