Grand Haven runner Seth Norder added another accolade to his already long list of accomplishments.

Norder, a senior, was named Mr. Cross Country in the state of Michigan.

Norder captured the Division 1 state title last weekend at the final meet at Michigan International Speedway. He completed the course in 14:54.3. As a team, Grand Haven finished third.

Norder had some rough patches during the course of a season that included a nagging foot injury that kept him from performing at his usual level.

However, he overcame those hurdles and finished the season as the top runner in the state.

His regional time of 14:48.12 was just 3 seconds off the record time he ran the previous year at regionals.

During his prep career, he finished second at the state meet at a sophomore and junior before breaking the tape as the state champion as a senior.

Grand Haven’s Seth Norder is Mr. Cross Country for the 2023 high school season.
