ALLENDALE – The Spring Lake volleyball team made a three-set sweep over rival Fruitport in the Division 2 district semifinal on Wednesday evening.
The Lakers found the edge and won with set scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-16.
Kalli Lewkowski led the Lakers with 13 kills and three aces. Brooke Bolthouse had 17 digs and nine kills, while Madeline Meigs added four aces. Kara Constantine and Avery Britt threw in 14 and 13 assists, respectively.
On defense, Brooklyn Beeler made 17 digs and Ella Gapczynski contributed five blocks.
The Trojans’ Sadie Haase had 10 kills, two blocks and an ace. Ashton Olson threw in four kills and Gracelynn Olson had 20 assists and 14 digs. Tara Sweet had 11 digs and nine kills.
Spring Lake (20-20-3) will face host Allendale on Thursday for the district championship.
Fruitport closed out the season with a record of 13-26.
