FRUITPORT – The Fruitport Trojans hung on for a narrow girls’ basketball victory over Montague on Thursday night.

In the end, the Trojans earned a 36-31 victory.

Addison Pranger scored 16 points to lead Montague. Adilynn Peterson and Ava Vandermeulen scored six and five points, respectively, for the Wildcats.

“We played and fought hard tonight, but couldn’t find the bottom of the basket,” said Montague coach Jess DeBruin. “With the break upon us, it is a good time for us to regroup and get healthy.”

Fruitport (4-1) will host North Muskegon on Friday, Dec. 29.

Montague (1-5, 1-2) will be at home on Thursday, Jan. 4 against Kent City.
