SCOTTVILLE — Hot shooting by Mallory Miller helped carry the Mason County Central girls basketball team to a dominating 55-10 win over White Cloud on Thursday night. 

Miller knocked down three 3-point baskets in the first quarter as the Spartans rolled to a 21-0 lead at the horn. That lead ballooned to 40-6 at the half. 

A running clock came into play in the fourth quarter, during which the Spartans registered a 6-0 shutout. 

Leading the way for the Spartans was Miller, who finished the game with a career-high 23 points. She added two more 3-point goals after the first for five on the night. 

The Spartans also got double figure scoring from junior Eva Hradel with 11 points while senior Wren Nelson contributed eight points. 

Next up for the Spartans is a West Michigan Conference Rivers Divsion game at Hart on Thursday, Jan. 4. 

White Cloud dropped to 2-4 overall and compete in the annual Holton Holiday Tournament beginning next Thursday against Muskegon Catholic Central.
