MONTAGUE – The Montague boys wrestling team posted an eighth-place finish at their annual E. Scott Holiday Mat Cat Classic on Saturday.

Jimmy Thommen led the way with a first-place finish. Chris Aebig was handed his first loss of the season, but came in second place in his weight class.

“Thommen and Aebig wrestled extremely well today,” said Montague coach Kristoffer Maddox. “They continue to be an example of effort and attitude on a daily basis.”

Brock Hunter secured a fourth-place finish.

“We had some kids battle today and did some good things across the board, but we need to find a way to continue to get better,” said Maddox. “We have the potential but need to make adjustments and learn from our mistakes.”

Montague will travel to Shelby on Wednesday.
