REED CITY – The Fremont girls basketball team couldn’t manage a full comeback in a 55-46 loss to Morley-Stanwood on Saturday.

The teams were tied for much of the first half, but Morley-Stanwood picked up the pace and went on an 11-0 run from late second quarter to early third quarter to put it up by 19 points.

The Packers built an 11-0 run of their own in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to eight points.

Jessica Bennett and Mia Clemence led Fremont with 13 points each. Eliana VandenBerk and Khaila Noordyk each added six points.

Fremont (3-2, 2-0) will travel to Howard City Tri County on Wednesday.
