NORTH MUSKEGON – The North Muskegon girls basketball team sailed past Hesperia 56-14 in WMC-Rivers play on Thursday evening.

“We had a great team effort tonight with really balanced scoring and tough defense,” said Norse coach Jill Young. “Our bench was amazing, they all scored, and again, the leadership of the seniors and junior captain Kaylee Martin managing our offense made the difference.”

Grace Philpot led the scoring with 11 points, while Emma Buchmiller had eight points and eight steals. Delaney Young chipped in nine points and five steals. Marilyn Gaston added eight points and made five steals.

The Panthers’ Grace Weberg posted eight points.

North Muskegon (2-0, 2-0) will see more league action at home as they host Shelby on Tuesday.

Hesperia (1-1, 0-1) travels to Holton on Tuesday for a conference match up.
