GRAND HAVEN – the Spring Lake boys basketball team turned a first-quarter deficit into a 13-point halftime lead and a 54-32 win over Traverse City St. Francis at the West Michigan Cup tournament.

The Lakers were down 10-9 after one quarter of play but turned around to shutout Traverse City St. Francis in the second quarter.

Eli Morrison was well-rounded with 13 points, four steals and four assists. Jaden Core scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Colin Burt put up nine points, while Zach Schlepp and Wren Deephouse added eight and seven points, respectively.

Spring Lake (3-3) will face Petoskey on Friday to close out the tournament.
