The Spring Lake girls’ basketball team came out strong during the second half, leading to a 47-37 non-conference win over Zeeland East on the road on Friday night.
The Lakers trailed 11-7 after the opening quarter and 19-17 at halftime.
Spring Lake outscored its opponent 14-10 during the third quarter to take a 31-29 advantage heading into the final stanza, before closing out the game on a 16-8 run.
Ella Andree led the Lakers with 17 points and five steals, while Tessa Britt added six points and seven rebounds. Clara Saunders and Brooke Bolthouse also scored six points apiece.
Spring Lake is now 2-0 on the season and will travel to take on Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday.
