Spring Lake runs over Grant, 62-37, in non-league girls basketball action

SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake girls basketball team scored 47 points over the second and third quarter to put away Grant, 62-37, on Wednesday.

Alexa Carter scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while a sharpshooting Ella Andree had 17 points, including five 3-point baskets, and four assists.

Brooke Bolthouse chipped in 15 points and four assists. Clara Saunders had four assists and three steals. Anna Hyde, Lauren Nicles and Claire Arnold contributed strong minutes off the bench.

The Tigers’ Julie Ashbaugh scored 16 points and Natalie Rodriquez had 10.

Spring Lake (4-0) will host Grand Haven on Friday for the Battle of the Bridge.

Grant (4-1, 3-0) will travel to Cedar Springs on Friday.
