WHITEHALL – Despite a slow start, the Fremont girls basketball team tallied another tough WMC-Lakes victory on Wednesday.

The Packers overcame a dismal 13-of-57 shooting to put down Whitehall, 45-28.

The Packers only posted six points in the opening quarter, but the defense picked up the slack.

Mia Clemence scored 14 points and snagged seven steals. Jessica Bennett added 10 points, nine blocks and seven rebounds, while Riley Chase had eight points and five steals. Taylor DeKuiper contributed eight rebounds, eight steals and six points.

Fremont (6-2, 4-0) travels to Manistee on Friday.

Whitehall (2-6, 1-4) will visit Orchard View on Friday.
