MONTAGUE – The North Muskegon boys basketball team narrowly saved their perfect season in the final seconds with a 47-45 win against Montague on Wednesday night.

“It was a great test for us tonight and Montague played us tough,” said North Muskegon coach Charles Rypstra. “We tried to make some runs, but they always had an answer and we needed some heroics late to get the win.”

The Norse trailed all three quarters before the closing seconds when the Norse were able to redirect a Wildcats throw-in to Lamarkis Graham, who was fouled and sank a pair of free throws for the win.

Graham finished the night with 15 points and five rebounds. James Young added 13 points and three steals, while Adam Dugener scored 10 points.

Isiah Atchison led the Wildcats with 11 points and seven blocks. Paul Olson had 11 points and Owen Raeth finished with 10.

North Muskegon (15-0, 7-0) will be at home against Mason County Central on Friday for a WMC-Rivers matchup.

Montague (9-6, 3-4) will host Orchard View for WMC-Lakes play on Friday.
