MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Community College Lady Jayhawks left little doubt of Saturday’s outcome against North Central.

MCC (9-8, 3-1) jumped out to a 25-12 lead after one quarter, 46-22 at the half and cruised to a 76-43 victory over the visiting Timberwolves.

“I am very proud of our team today,” Jayhawk coach Jason Cooper said. “We played our best basketball this season on both sides of the ball today. The hard work is paying off.”

The Jayhawks were spot-on at both ends of the court with a potent offense and a stingy defense. The Timberwolves had 29 turnovers. That included 16 steals by MCC.

Tv’veonna Davis led four Lady Jayhawks in double figures with 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Arrionna Williams added 12 points and four steals. McKena Wilson had 11 points and three steals and Maiya Hill had 10 points.

Remi Sponseller added nine points and Ali Phillips had seven points. Gaby Reeve  had six points and four rebounds while Kaitlyn Bennett h ad five points, seven rebounds and three steals.

North Central is now 1-16, 0-5 in league play.

The Jayhawks will host Mid-Michigan at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bartels-Rode Gymnasium.
