After five ties and 12 lead changes, the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks’ men earned a 63-58 victory over North Central Michigan Community College.
The Jayhawks started slowly in the opening half due to some missed shots near the basket and some foul trouble that sent two starters to the bench. The Jayhawks trailed 30-29 at the half.
In the second half, MCC was able to slow down North Central leading scorer Josh Adams and ultimately hang on for the victory. The Jayhawks had a 34-28 scoring advantage in the second half.
Jadakiss Lewis had a strong game for MCC (7-10, 3-1) with 26 points and seven rebounds. Jacob Mueller added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Jayhawks host Mid-Michigan Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bartels-Rode Gymnasium.
