COOPERSVILLE — It took a quarter for the Reeths-Puffer Rockets to get rolling in their Division 1 district opener on Monday night.

The Rockets outscored the host Coopersville Broncos by 34 points over the final three quarters in a 63-26 victory.

Reeths-Puffer will take on the winner of Kenowa Hills-Grand Rapids Union at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kenowa Hills.

In the opening quarter, the Rockets led just 15-12, but a 23-1 scoring surge in the second quarter put Puffer in command at 38-13 at the half. An 18-5 run in the third quarter built the advantage to 56-18.

Ariel Walker poured in a game-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to spark the Rockets. Sophia Hekkema added 13 points and eight rebounds. Irelyn Niklasch had eight rebounds and Billie Tryska had six.

Hunter Near led Coopersville with eight points.
